Coaching and Training

Are you ready to sharpen your federal grant skills? We offer one-on-one coaching options and customized training packages. These services are available to grant writers and fundraising teams, as well as grant consulting businesses looking to level up their federal grant writing knowledge and capacity.

Training sessions are available for…

  • Nonprofit teams

  • Consulting groups

  • Regional collaboratives

We offer single-session and annual packages of coaching calls, as well as four primary virtual training services to elevate your team’s grant development process (see details below). The pricing provided is for groups of up to 15 attendees. If you are interested in training larger groups or in-person training options, please reach out for pricing.

Breakthrough Calls

These calls are great for Executive Directors, Directors of Development, and Grant Writers. However, these calls are most beneficial for organizations that have existed for at least a year and have some history of grant-seeking.

Breakthrough Call (45 Minutes)

Book a virtual call to receive assistance from Fielding Jezreel to solve a challenge that is keeping you from moving forward in grants with confidence. Get clear on your grant goals or a specific grant-related challenge, refine your grant research strategy, or come up with a plan to address a tricky situation you need to share with a funder.

You’ll leave the call with one or more immediate actions you can take confidently.

A Year of Breakthrough Calls

We will create a regularly scheduled call once per month, and you’ll have one extra call to use when you need it most. A year of calls allows us to level up your grant strategy where you need it most. You can expect to feel more confident, get your work done more efficiently, and build a grant funding portfolio that performs better for your organization.

  • Grants 101

Grants 101 is a two-hour virtual course designed for nonprofit employees and board members who have limited or no experience with grant writing. Participants will learn about different types of grant funders, the core components of a grant application, how to work within their organization to find the information they need, and how to build and manage relationships with funders. If requesting training in person, the course can be three hours and hands-on activities will be facilitated.

Participants do not need to have any grant experience. This class is designed for nonprofits seeking grants, not grants for individuals, businesses, or to attend college.

  • Grant Research

This two-hour virtual class for up to 15 students is designed to give participants (nonprofit employees and board members) hands-on experience in identifying funders that are a good fit for their nonprofit and a specific project. Participants will leave the class with a list of funders and a plan to outreach them when they get back to the office.

Participants do not need to have any grant experience. This class is designed for nonprofits, not individuals, businesses, or grants to attend college. If requesting training in person, the course can be three hours and hands-on activities will be facilitated.

  • Grant Proposal Development

This two-hour virtual class offers a deep dive into each section of a standard proposal. Students will be given a grant narrative template that will be described in detail. After the two-hour education session, each participant will be asked to fill out the narrative template and schedule a follow-up consultation call with the instructor to receive individualized feedback on their narrative.

Participants should have some grant writing experience or have attended Grants 101. This class is designed for nonprofits (not individuals, businesses, or grants to attend college).

  • Federal Grant Budgets

This two-hour course considers allowability, allocability, reasonableness, and the federal object class categories. We will go through detailed examples of when and how to ask for commonly needed, but confusing-to-categorize budget requests.
